Save on Auto Insurance

There are many ways too save on auto insurance. Below are a few ways in which you can start saving money on auto insurance.

Accidents

Accidents are usually unavoidable but they can be prevented if the teenage drivers’ cars are equipped with security features which can minimize the risks of accidents and damages on their cars. Parents can fit in air bags, alarms and steering locks for their teenage children’s car in order to help them to get cheaper auto insurance. Accidents could happen anytime. In fact, even if you are the careful driver or even if you are the reckless driver, you could actually meet accidents on the road.

Tickets

Tickets or no tickets, you’re a different driver than you were last summer. Getting updated quotes could land you significant car insurance savings. Deductible amount is the money which is deducted when the reimbursement is made to the owner in accordance to the insurance claim that he has made. Deductibles represent the amount of money you pay before you make a claim. By requesting higher deductibles on collision and comprehensive (fire and theft) coverage, you can lower your costs substantially.

Discounts

Discounts for car features are, as far as I know, not a separate discount line items that insurance agencies can apply a discount to. That’s probably a factor in the actuaries’ computation of the the Collision or Comprehensive coverage’s. Discounts are also given to people who have more than one car insured under the same company so take advantage of this offer. You can also get discounts if you take a driving training course or do carpools.

Good Credit

Drivers with good credit and a clean driving record may qualify as a ‘preferred’ customer with lower risk and will be rewarded with lower auto insurance premiums. Drivers are awarded a discount according to the number of years they have been claim free and at the end of each year they earn a further discount. Whilst female drivers can already benefit from cheap women’s car insurance, a solid no-claims bonus is certainly not to be sniffed at.
